Directions
BY CAR -
There are two main ferry crossings from the mainland to Mull. The most popular and quickest from the south is from Oban to Craignure which has frequent sailings, takes about 40 minutes and needs to be booked (Caledonian McBraynes 0990 650000). Longer, but very scenic, with the added bonus of a drive through Glen Coe, is the Lochaline to Fishnish service. It is a shorter and cheaper crossing and no booking is required.

BY TRAIN -
There is a rail link from Glasgow to Oban, which takes about three hours. But perhaps the most romantic means of reaching Mull, from the south of England, is by the London - Fortwilliam sleeper service followed by a drive to Lochaline and a ferry to Fishnish. It is quite expensive, needs a hired car, but definitely worth it if you are feeling flush.

BY AIR -
The nearest airport, Glasgow, is about a two hour drive from Oban.
